The Center for Global Alchemy and Cross-Cultural Leadership (solid background)

The Center for Global Alchemy & Cross-Cultural Leadership is spearheaded by Andres Goyanes, a global communications professional with more than two decades of experience.

Cross-Cultural Research and Analysis

Helping people and organizations navigate through the complexities of the cross-cultural landscape and fostering cultural intelligence

Our work focuses on educating individuals and organizations using a knowledge framework that can increase understanding among people in intercultural environments. We employ educational programs, awareness initiatives, and trade missions that promote a human connection between people in diverse groups from around the world.

The world has become increasingly complex and globalization is no longer a choice, but rather a ubiquitous occurrence that requires preparing leaders to develop a global mindset. Our mission is simple: to teach respect and tolerance for the wondrous diversity of the people and cultures of the globe.

Our Global Alchemy programs include the following:

  • Cross-Cultural Awareness (Training Program)
An essential cross-cultural training program designed to create awareness for the many dimensions of a globalized workforce from a domestic perspective. Using a multi-course approach, our Cross-Cultural Awareness Training addresses influential concepts such as cross-cultural dimensions, world religions, political systems, social dynamics, and other differences between a base country and a target country.
  • Cultural Transmutation (Training Program)
Does your team or company need to enter a new market beyond its borders? Our Cultural Transmutation program addresses specific concerns and cross-cultural issues to transform unconscious bias into awareness that leads individuals to a new state of mind armed with cultural intelligence (CQ). This program can be customized to address specific goals and objectives to help teams become aware about a target country.
  • Country-Specific Language Training
Provides essential language training for individuals and teams who need to learn a language with particular focus on individual countries. Although many countries share a language, each may have unique ways of expressing in it. The program integrates other learning dimensions such as customs, social and cultural norms, unspoken language, and other unique ways to engage in a foreign destination.
  • Trade Missions for Business Development
We provide cross-cultural support for trade missions sponsored by corporate, public entities, or industry or trade organizations. As cross-cultural guides, we can address issues before, during and after a trade mission to help your organization, its leaders and teams increase their success in engaging opportunity beyond borders.

Unconscious bias is at the heart of much of the friction encountered in cross-cultural work environments. People in different cultures have different perceptions based on their self-reference criterion, which measures everyone against what is already familiar to an individual. And when that individual leads an organization, it sets the stage for its organizational culture—for better or for worse.

Another important hurdle we seek to eliminate is ignorance—that is, the absence of knowledge—which can fuel misconceptions and misunderstandings about people of different cultures, religions, social norms, and value systems. Conflict is almost always the result of a lack of understanding.

We do not align with any political, religious, or divisive philosophies. To do so would be counterproductive to our goal of fostering alignment between people from different national origins, ethnicities, and value systems.

Our mission is to foster effective cross-cultural communication that leads to connecting, engaging, and producing mutually beneficial opportunities. If you have any questions about any of our programs or research, please contact us by clicking on the button below.
