“The essence of cross-cultural communication has more to do with releasing responses than with sending messages. It is more important to release the right response than to send the right message.” —Edward T. Hall (Cross-Cultural Researcher)

The Center’s logo is inspired by the iconography of classical alchemy’s Philosopher’s Stone, and symbolizes the complexity of our world, depicted using sacred geometric patterns to also show that harmony can be achieved through global collaboration and understanding.

About Us

Developing global competency and literacy is of paramount importance for professionals in the 21st century

The Center for Global Alchemy & Cross-Cultural Leadership is a leadership development organization, creating awareness for global communication and engagement. Our goal is to promote the development of a global mindset as a pathway to global citizenship, helping people manage through the cross-cultural dynamics of a globalized environment.

Our Founder, Andres Goyanes, is a committed global scholar and business communications consultant with extensive world travel experience, foreign language skills, and academic education in global leadership and sustainability.

Communication at a cross-cultural level requires not just foreign language skills, but also cultural, emotional, and social intelligence. These soft skills can help individuals manage their emotions and interactions through novel and challenging situations—regardless of their national background, education level, and belief system.

Our Mission

Our mission is to foster global literacy and intercultural relations through communication and understanding—educating people from all backgrounds, nationalities, religions, and worldviews so they may engage, interact, and collaborate with each other to develop a global mindset to succeed the globalized world of the 21st century.

Our Vision

Our vision is to become a trusted source of cross-cultural knowledge and education for individuals and organizations who see the benefit in interacting with people across borders—and develop a global community where all cultures, religions, and philosophies are welcomed without judgment as a core element of global citizenship.

Our Core Values

  • Respect: There is no alternative to respecting what makes each person, culture, and nation unique
  • Kindness: Without kindness there can be no respect and it must always be demonstrated with sincerity
  • Sincerity: This is how truth can be established as a common denominator for building cross-cultural relationship
  • Optimism: We have a vision of a better world based on mutual understanding and less uncertainty

We have coined the concept of global alchemy as a transformational opportunity to create a foundation for effective global citizenship. Through education and training, anyone can learn the knowledge and develop skills to communicate with people who speak a different language, live in a different culture, and have a different worldview.

The Center for Global Alchemy & Cross-Cultural Leadership does not align with any political, religious, or polarized philosophies. We welcome the opportunity to interact with people from diverse national origins, ethnicities, religions, and value systems, because these make up the wondrous diversity of planet earth.

Let’s do our part in ensuring our future builds on what makes us similar and put behind bias and misconceptions to ensure cross-cultural leadership paves the way for better global relations.

Our mission is to foster effective cross-cultural communication that leads to connecting, engaging, and producing mutually beneficial opportunities. If you have any questions about any of our programs or research, please contact us by clicking on the button below.
